BSD, or the Berkeley Standard Distribution (or Berkeley System Distribution, depending on who you ask) of UNIX is one of the first derivates of the AT&T standard UnixOs. It has survived for many years and the most popular versions now are FreeBsdOs, OpenBsdOs, and NetBsdOs.

BSD and System V variants of UNIX are the two main types of UnixOs systems still in usage today.
