This is the first level of degree someone receives from a university. American readers will recognize the name for the period during which someone works towards an undergrad (for short) degree as "college." To get an undergrad degree, you must generally take courses in a wide variety of areas, not just in a single specialty. Once you have such a degree, you can pursue a MastersDegree or DoctoralDegree.
See PreparingForHigherEducation for advice on how you can prepare.
